Anticipation is building for the Colors of the Rainbow semi-finals.
Students from seven Pittsburgh Public Schools will take what they’ve learned during the winter semester and compete on May 7 for the chance to advance to the finals when Dancing Classrooms Pittsburgh, a program of Mercy Behavioral Health, hosts the Colors of the Rainbow on May 21.
Participating schools include: Pittsburgh Arsenal K-5, Pittsburgh Carmalt K-8, Pittsburgh Dilworth K-5, Pittsburgh Fulton K-5, Pittsburgh Linden K-5, Pittsburgh Montessori K-8 and Pittsburgh Whittier K-5.
The 20-lesson program started the first week of January. Instruction began with the Merengue, followed by the Foxtrot, and then the Rumba. Students then moved further south to Argentina for the Tango, returned to the USA for the Swing, and traveled across the pond for the Waltz.
Who will be moving on to the finals in May? Stay tuned.
