Pittsburgh Dilworth students show how to shake it

Today, Pittsburgh Dilworth students showed their families, friends and schoolmates what they’ve been up to for the past 10 weeks. Teaching artist Rozana Sweeney asked her students perform the Merengue, Foxtrot, Rumba, Tango, Swing, and the heel-toe polka for an enthusiastic crowd.

Audience members applauded enthusiastically with every spin and swing.  But the moment that brought the house down was watching their principal, Dr. Monica Lamar, shaking her buttons with her young escort.  As an added bonus, Dr. Barbara Rudiak, Pittsburgh Public Schools assistant superintendent, also took to the floor for the Merengue.

Dilworth’s culminating event was a warm-up for the school’s participation in the Colors of the Rainbow semi-finals on May 7.
