Pittsburgh Linden takes top honors in Dancing Classrooms Pittsburgh 2010-11 final team match

Following an impressive showing  by eight Pittsburgh Public Schools, Pittsburgh Linden K-5, the “orange” team, earned top honors in Dancing Classrooms Pittsburgh’s final team match on Saturday, May 21, capping off another successful year of Mercy Behavioral Health‘s in-school program.

For their performances of the Merengue, Foxtrot, Rumba, Tango and Swing, Linden students took home gold medals and the grand prize — the Colors of the Rainbow trophy — for the 2010-11 school year.

Pittsburgh Carmalt PreK-8, the “purple” team did their school proud and placed second in a close race.

Silver medals were awarded to three teams: Pittsburgh Dilworth PreK-5 (magenta), Pittsburgh West Liberty K-5 (red), and Pittsburgh Whittier K-5 (green).

Bronze-level winners were: Pittsburgh Allegheny K-5 (yellow), Pittsburgh Phillips K-5 (emerald), and Pittsburgh Sunnyside K-8 (indigo).

Congratulations to all 96 dancing stars, their teaching artists, principals, and schools on a job well done.
