Students and Alumni of Dancing Classrooms Pittsburgh had the honor of performing at the Benedum Center as part of a pre-show feature for Pittsburgh Ballet Theater on October 25, 26, & 27.  As audiences entered the theater, the students could be seen dancing the Merengue, Fox Trot, Rumba, Tango, and Swing on the balcony.

Pittsburgh Ballet Theater invited Dancing Classrooms to participate as a way to set the scene for the performance of An Evening of Twyla Tharp. The Pittsburgh Ballet Theater performance featured choreography by Twyla Tharp which combined the movements of ballet with the elegance of ballroom dancing.

Audience members were thrilled to see our students and alumni dressed in suits and dresses, dancing with respect, elegance, and style. A few audience members even commented that they take ballroom dance lessons and would love to see the students perform certain rhythms. The students were happy to oblige!

It was a wonderful opportunity for Dancing Classrooms Pittsburgh to share the positive work we do while inspiring others to continue their passion for dance. We are thankful to the students and alumni who participated with smiles and laughter. And we are especially thankful to Pittsburgh Ballet Theater for the opportunity to participate in such a wonderful event!
