Tonight, Dancing Classrooms Pittsburgh will be featured on the 5 p.m. broadcast of Channel 4 Action News on WTAE-TV Pittsburgh. Earlier today, Sally Wiggin, news anchor, visited Pittsburgh Lincoln K-8 to watch students dance under the direction of teaching artist Gena Melago.

Family, friends, teachers, and a host of others enjoyed watching the culminating events at schools that took part in the fall 2011 semester of Dancing Classrooms Pittsburgh. All of this, of course, is leading up to the January 7, 2012 Colors of the Rainbow Team Match.
Most of the Dancing Classrooms Pittsburgh culminating events were standing-room only, with all in attendance mesmerized and fascinated by the fifth-grade dancers.

As the fall 2011 semester of Dancing Classrooms Pittsburgh comes to a close, participating Pittsburgh Public Schools and Pittsburgh Catholic Schools are hosting their 20th and final lessons, better known as “culminating events.” That’s when students invite friends, families, and teachers to see what they’ve learned over the past 19 lessons in their schools.
Teaching artist Ms. Kelsey Kizina was proud of her students at Pittsburgh Lincoln and at Pittsburgh Weil. It was standing room only at both Pittsburgh Public Schools on December 12 as young ballroom dancers “shook what their mamas gave them!”
