What an exciting week it has been!  This week we had Culminating events at Pittsburgh Banksville, Pittsburgh Miller, Pittsburgh Colfax, and Pittsburgh Weil.  The young ladies and gentleman did outstanding jobs!  And they should- Miss Gena, Miss Jen and Miss Ashley did incredible jobs in teaching them.  Here are a few pictures of our ladies and gentleman:

You make me feel like dancing: Pittsburgh Banksville fifth graders reflect on Dancing Classrooms

Eight elementary schools to compete in May 5 Colors of the Rainbow semi-finals

Saturday, May 5 is the big day for 96 newly trained ballroom dancers from eight Pittsburgh elementary schools.

At the Colors of the Rainbow semi-final team match, fifth graders from seven Pittsburgh Public Schools and one Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh school will dance the Merengue, Rumba, Foxtrot, Tango, and Swing in front of a panel of  judges.

Based on their performances, four of the eight  teams will advance to the final round of competition for Dancing Classrooms Pittsburgh’s 2011-12 school year. Continue reading

Ms. Gena has been dancing since she was five years old. At a young age, she focused on ballet and jazz. While attending Moon High School, she fell in love with Latin dance. Continue reading
