What an exciting week it has been!  This week we had Culminating events at Pittsburgh Banksville, Pittsburgh Miller, Pittsburgh Colfax, and Pittsburgh Weil.  The young ladies and gentleman did outstanding jobs!  And they should- Miss Gena, Miss Jen and Miss Ashley did incredible jobs in teaching them.  Here are a few pictures of our ladies and gentleman:

Eight elementary schools to compete in May 5 Colors of the Rainbow semi-finals

Saturday, May 5 is the big day for 96 newly trained ballroom dancers from eight Pittsburgh elementary schools.

At the Colors of the Rainbow semi-final team match, fifth graders from seven Pittsburgh Public Schools and one Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh school will dance the Merengue, Rumba, Foxtrot, Tango, and Swing in front of a panel of  judges.

Based on their performances, four of the eight  teams will advance to the final round of competition for Dancing Classrooms Pittsburgh’s 2011-12 school year. Continue reading

Four elementary schools take top honors in Dancing Classrooms Pittsburgh Colors of the Rainbow, advance to finals

Today, teams of fifth graders from four Pittsburgh Public Schools — Pittsburgh Carmalt PreK-8, Pittsburgh Dilworth PreK-5, Pittsburgh Linden K-5 and Pittsburgh Whittier K-5 — took top honors in the Colors of the Rainbow semi-finals for the winter/spring 2011 semester of Mercy Behavioral Health’s Dancing Classrooms Pittsburgh.

For their stellar performances, those four teams earned gold medals — and more importantly — guaranteed  spots for their respective schools in 2010-2011 finals on May 21, 2011. Continue reading
